littlenintendothings: In my opinion, no video game has ever had as much hype surrounding it as Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Nintendo released very little information about the game for the better part of two years but then they came up with an idea so devious, I knew I had to make it a thing. They decided to slowly update a website dedicated to the site about all the information you needed. They’d do one update a day and it could range from awesome things like character or stage reveals, to boring aspects like modes you already know about or items like the Smoke Ball. I used to wait up every night for the Dojo to update and I’d get excited pretty much every time something cool happened. With hype like this, it was almost impossible for the actual game to live up to it. While I think Brawl is an amazing game, the best in the series, it was still hurt by the hype. Nothing about it was secret, nothing about it was as amazingly spectacular as the site made it seem. Between Nintendo revealing everything and me being eager to see everything they reveal, the game just wasn’t what it could have been. I still play it regularly, though. (Super Smash Bros.
